How do Conservatives support Republicans when they are adding to the debt?

Because they keep the "hot button" issues like abortion and gay rights. Apparently people dont really care about the debt or the economy, just that if their abstinence only teachings dont work that women should be forced to have the kid, and then they dont want to support the mother or the child.
