Millions of jobs have been cut from city, county and state workers?

My trash has gone to a 2 week collection schedule, and my water bill has trippled. Pot holes now are much more common than a few years ago, and half of my city has been sold out to "Chinese Investors".. So obviously big improvement since corporate America has shifted their focus on building up Communst china.

Is this anxiety or am I just thinking way too much?

On and off since November due to a layoff, new job, new commute, traffic, then dealing with a new location. I dont know if its because Im lonley (I bought a house at 24 by myself) or Im stressed out. But sometimes I get a little nervous and anxious. I started seeing a therapist because this is all new to me. I dont want to call it full blown anxiety because their not Bad. My heart may race, I may feel uneasy but only lasts a couple of minutes. Does the feeling ever go away? My therapist said that its new things in my life and I just need to become comfotable again.

If my company stated that I verbally told them i would resign and I didn't what can I do? They sent me an email stating that's what I said and fired me through email. I just finished reading the first half (Omnibus 1), and while I found it fairly enjoyable it seemed lacking in plot/drama (too much ecchi, repetition, and lackluster characters). Does the second half pick up the pace, or is it more of the same? Also, does Chobits have a *completely* happy ending? My cousin turned in her two week notice and her employer is asking her to miss some days of work in order to not give her a full paycheck at the end of the two weeks. We live in an at will State but I couldn't find information to clarify if it is legal or not to withhold a days wages if the Employer requested it for mere savings on his part. I am now about to enter my second year of college, and am still conflicted between two majors. One being liberal studies. Like many people in LAUSD are getting laid off, teachers, counselors, librarians and so on. Literally, he is so scared that when i walk back in from having a cigarette he jumps, even though he knows im am out there. I would like to knwo what we should do about this situation?... Is there any way that this would be seen as a breach of contract by the court system?.. Im willing to do what it takes to find us a more suitable home.

I was dog-sitting for my neighbors and I discovered that they only feed their full-grown golden retriever 3 measuring cups (actual 3 cups) of food per day. They also only give her one bowl of water for a day - and it's a small bowl. I've felt the dog, I can literally stick my fingers between her ribs. She's never had a bath or hair cut, so her fur is very long, yet I can still see her ribs through her fur. They don't walk the dog at all, and she sits outside all day on the deck. They have a fenced yard, BUT they keep her on a 3 ft leash all day. It's been raining non stop for the week and she's been sitting out there with no food at all, in the rain. She is fed her 3 cups of food once a day, and she has to eat very very fast to the point of choking it down. (When I was taking care of her, she would run for the food, eat it as fast as possible and then duck down to the floor like she was scared I'd hit her near the end of her meal). They are extremely impatient with her. I was told that the husband had once beaten the dog. She is very fearful of her owners. She rarely eats or gets fresh water. I was considering reporting the neighbors to the SPCA, but I'm not sure if they would classify this as abuse or not. I don't want to waste their time. I'm looking for serious answers, and advice or suggestions please. Thanks guys :)

Panic Attacks Again (unusual behavior)?

Ok so ive suffered from Panic Disorder for a very long time...i believe initally this started because of an emense amount of school bullying in high school,that has affected me for the rest of my life.Then as i was in my teens i used a fair bit of meth and got so many panic attacks it was wayyy to over whelming.To the point where every time i came down of meth I would have a crazy panic attack where i wanted to run run run away from the situation i was in at the time and would do anything to escape.After i quit using meth for obvious reasons.I would still for a couple of years get panic attacks for no apparent reason,say if something was overwhelming (mind you this can be a Happy event) I even missed my daughters birthday because of a panic attack i was so excited but worried i wouldnt host her party properly and thought suddenly i wasnt good enough.I still to this day hate myself for that and think what a bad mother i was even though realistically i am an amazing mother. Anyway just recently i had a heavy night of drinking and had my best friend and her partner look after my children at our house overnight.When i arrived home i wasnt too bad but as soon as i walked into the dooor I started to get paranoid and thinking that they were looking wierd at me like there was something wrong with me.I started to avoid the babysitters and pray that they would go home soon and leave.I can deal with a panic attack on my own with my kids but to have ppl around freaks me out,i needed to clear my head alone.So i kept going outside for a smoke and a full blown attack started.Mind you my friend who babysat is my bestest friend in the whole world but i was sooo paranoid about who know what?? So I sat outside trying to work out how to run away from the situation.I was soooo fearfu;,felt like a bad mum again and told my partner im going to bed and having another panic attack :( I felt soooo rude but i was in emense fear...i feel like such an idiot...i hate this.So i hid under my blankets like a newborn baby rocking back and forward,trying to work out how to make this insanity stop.I hated myself again and had visions of cutting myself to release the pain and hope it would go.I prayed no one would come in and talk to me because i stutter and freak out when im confronted.Heres the bit that freaked me out i was dying to go to the toilet so bad and held it in for ages...hoping they would leave so i woul;d feel partially normal again.But they didnt do i found a small bowl under my bed and went to the toilet int their.I felt so retarded and fearful of having to run from my room to the toilet because i didnt want anyone to see me..wtf is wrong with me...stooping to peeing in a bowl for the avoidence of others and being confronted.I feel totally insane. been played wow too many times and I get fearful to trust my heart with anyone. How old are you? This all sounds very junior high school, and while that may be expected of the students, you should be more mature. If your students liked you, they wouldn't do this stuff. You have not presented yourself as a professional who wants to help the students reach their goals. It's too bad you're getting cut because of budget shortages, although there's no reason that I know of that that can't be explained to students. It's going on everywhere. But you're an example of why experience counts. You've overreacted to your students, and not handled this very well. Why should anything an adolescent does, says or thinks infuriate you? Grow up!

Dentist receptionist doesn't space out the appointments, how do I tell her to give more room?

I am a dental assistant and my office recently hired a receptionist that overlaps appointments. We have a lot of HMOs. Usually the schedule is so tight that we are always running behind. Hah Erik. Truth is the USA has always been in debt, from the time is was formed to now, far beyond any gov't or financial plan can solve. If the president were to say the country is going down the drain, everybody would sell their stocks(creating another depression), mass hysteria would form, prices would inflate and the value of the US dollar would plummet and the whole world economy would collapse. This in turn would lead to riots/revolutions/rebellions, pretty much every country would fight for the control of oil(which were already experiencing) and the world would end. :)

I quit my job, can I still get unemployment?

I was suppose to be layoff in August of 2010 but that was postponed until November 2010, which was delayed until January of 2011, and finally set for April 18 of 2011. In the mean time I made plans to relocate but delayed my departure to accommodate my employer and to be eligible for unemployment. However April 18 date came and went with no specific date but talk of an additional 90 days before layoffs would take effect. Without a specific date and with no confidence in the layoff to be completed in 90 days, I resigned and will be moving. My Controller and other friends suggested I still should apply for unemployment. Do you think I have a chance to still collect? Potential overtraining issue?

Around Christmas I had problems with overtaining and after many layoffs I finally was able to start rebuilding my running mileage again. I've been feeling great after all my runs and have been feeling like I could go faster than I have been and have really been careful since but lately all the old signs of my overtraining are back (except for decreased performance). What should I do about my mother?

Last year, my mother was convicted of possession of crack. Turns out it had been an ongoing problem for years, which most of my family knew about, but I was kept in the dark. It really explains a lot of the neglect that my siblings and I went through, and a lot of the random fits of anger our mom would have. It never made sense until now. I've always felt sorry for her. I never knew why she was such an angry, bitter person. As such, I've kept my anger from her, I've never expressed it, always fearful of hurting her feelings. Is it bad for a dog to be shut up in a 15' by 15' fenced in area, alone, for a week with no human interaction?

This dog has food, water and shelter. Even so, its been extremely hot out. 95 to 100 degrees.Theres also been some severe storms. the dog paces nervously when I come over to give it water. I am not allowed to let him out.he has bit someone before. I just put a hose in to make sure he has water. He has an automatic feeder full of food in there.He's not so bad that they can't be around him. I have seen the dog recently run around the front yard for about a minute. I think he just has potential to bite. The dogs demeaner seems playful and sweet at times(seeing him from across the street) but when he's in the fenced in area he paces and seems off. Only way I can think to describe it. just feel like somethings not right with the dog. Probably why they have him back there. I feel bad for this dog but I'm not sure if I'm worried about nothing.The caged in thing just seems bad for him but I think the owners feel they have no other choice. They are nice people. I just wonder if they may not realize it.They probably do spend time with it and play with him in the backyard and take him places for all I know. I don't get it I mean who made this game because I tackle teams like literally 80 times in a 20 minute match and the are like 4 free kicks for both sides at the end of the game. So like 160 tackles and 8 free kicks I mean WTF!!! and there is no holding the man rule so they tackle me after I handball or kick it away then they through me to the ground and push my face in the dirt when they are getting up. Why wont my Greyhound walk with me?

My family adopted a female greyhound about 3.5 years ago and I think she is currently 5 years old. She has always been shy and fearful around other dogs but we have also seen her playful side (inside the house). We try to walk her every day and she walks well with my mum and with my dad, and also if there are 2 or more people walking then she has no problem. When I try to walk her she refuses to move. I really don't like doing it but I have to drag her a fair way, until she realises that turning around would be longer than continuing on towards home. My mum gets really annoyed with me because she thinks I am not showing my dominance to the dog, and not walking her correctly or something. Cat had a panic attack?

About an hour ago, my cat was quietly sitting in his bed but suddenly got up and began frantically running around the house and licking his chest and front paws. I was stuck at a certain weight for the longest time so, I had the same problem! First off you may have a slow metabolism. Some ways to speed up your metabolism is eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 larger meals. Eating six 260-300 calories meals every 2-3 hours boost your metabolism because you keep intaking food, forcing it to work. Another reason why you might not be losing weight is because your body is so used to the same exercise. Try adding another half mile to your workout, it will make a difference. Also, sprinting really fast say for a half a mile burns the SAME amount of calories as running one mile, it's speed that makes the difference, not the distance. If you have trouble tracking your distance run on a treadmill (I personally find it easier than running outside). Last, but certainly not least is keep hydrated with lots of water! I drink about three or four water bottles a day. It flushes out everything in your system and cleans it! I hope I helped! Good luck!

Personally, I would like for it to be forbidden for business executives to receive bonuses or raises in years when they have had mass layoffs but I do NOT think that what you are suggesting is a good idea. And we all know Pacquiao would defeat Floyd quite badly although I do think Khan would have a chance against his friend and stablemate as Manny isn't getting any younger either but would still beat the aged Mayweather who hardly ever fights whether is b personal problems or ducking opponents. And Khan also proved he can take a punch now after the shots he took against Maidana therefore Khan would just walk through Mayweather's powderpuff punches on his way to a late stoppage or landslide points decision, and that is a fact. I also think Manny wouldn't lose any sleep if Mayweather never fought him as Manny has beating all the biggest names in boxing convincingly whereas Mayweather hasn't. When Mayweather does come back from lengthy layoffs then it is against washed up hasbeens or people he knows he can beat and even then he was nearly floored in the second round in one of them against Mosley lol. And Pacquiao won't mind if Amir beat him as Manny has done it all as I already said whereas a win for Khan over Manny or Mayeather would really set Amir on his way to being the best pound for pound fighter in the world. I to sufferd from anxiety disorders and severe panic attacks, there was a point I never left the house and coudnt eat I lost 1 stone in 2 weeks and was getting really depresed. I thought I was going to be like this forever. I was offerd help and meds but the thot of them made me worse. I went to hell and back to get rid of my anxiety disorder It was mentaly the hardst time of my life but one day something just clikd in my mind and I relised wat was really happning to me. I still get th odd fealing of anxiousness in a nervous situation but havnt took a panic attack in years, it will go away even if it feals like it won't if you can train ur brain to be stronger and learn fully wat ur body is doing wen a panic attack takes place it helps a lot. The friend you had is not worth having if they left you like that, some ppl don't understand anxiety fully and think its "all in your head" wich it technically is but its so much more than that to a suffer its very much real and frighting. You shouldnt feal down about this, its obviously not ideal but the more u get anoyied and down about it th worse ull feal. My panic attacks just stopd, u need to be positve and stay happy. Keep busy be around positve ppl not negitve ones. Ppl who make you feal bad about urself are not worth having, even if you were close to them. How to jog when I'm tired?

I have to jog for 2 hours a day (120 minutes), on 5.0 speed which is a paced speed. The thing is, I get to about 50 minutes and I want to stop. I've once reached an 90 minutes but I had to stop because I was interrupted, so I know this is a task I'm physically able to do, it's just that I really don't want to do it. I try everything to pass the time, listen to music, watch TV, even put my head down and close my eyes on the grip bar. But all those techniques last for about 7 minutes. and it's just sooooo tiring, but I want to lose weight and get healthier. I also want to do a non stop jog, since that's the best way to help the heart. Is there any psychological exercises that make your mind not think about time, or go into some trance (LOL i'm that desperate) because I would really do anything to be able to do these two hours. My dog who sleeps with me, woke me at 3am barking like crazy...?

I have a small dog who sleeps on my bed. This night at 3pm i was woken by my dog barking loudly staring at the doorway. I assumed her barking because she could hear my daughter walking up the hallway to come and sleep with us. So i turned my head to look at the doorway expecting to see my sleepy daughter only to my shock saw very clearly a very tall white ghost of a very old lady, the image was looking at the dog barking madly and seemed to be moving its head around in a very confused manner,i could also feel the energy and it was quite bright also. There was no anger, or ill will felt from the ghost but i was petrified just the same. In absolute fear and shock i turned my head to face the other way and could see it in the mirror, with the dog still barking i watched in a fear i have never experienced before, thinking how do i get it to go away, i then shook my doona and yelled out to my daughter, and it faded away. I lay there a while till i had the courage to turn on lights and check on my daughter who was sound asleep. i have lived in this unit 5 years and have never had anything like this happen before, i am now very fearful and am wondering why it came to me. My intuition tells me it was lost or confused and was not there for me! It did not feel familiar, nor did it feel to have any message or omen. So what would have made it visible to me and my dog? Usually settles him right down. well then he out of nowhere went nuts and scratched me and then bit me, hissed and ran. I was leaking pretty bad, he got me good. I went over to pet him to tell him its okay calm down, and he was scared. So i went and showered and washed my wounds, and figured it was time to try to tell him again its ok. He was absolutely traumatized and was very scared of me, and went to a corner and just stayed there. He was scared to move, and watched everything i did. I finally got to him and just sat and petted him for like 15 minutes, but we was terrified. And i rarely hit my cat, and when i do he laughes in my face. I usually just flick his ear or something tiny. He finally left, went upstairs in a crazy run out of pure fear, and then slept on the bed. I went in and he woke up, he seemed fine for a split second, but he was still terrified. He then let me pet him again, but was very fearful. Pupils are still dialated... after a few attempts of me going and petting him, while i was watching tv he came down the stairs and ate. he then went into his room(my brothers) and layed there. I went in and he was still scared. I kept going in and sitting with him and petting and talking to him, and he seemed to be getting somewhat better. This is like 10 hours after the incident and he was still scared. I went in later, and even though he is still traumatized and very aware of every movement, he started to purr this time. I then tried to pick him up, not towards my face, just from ground onto bed. he was alright but once he hit the bed he went wild again. He just ran off and hid. I went over to his cowering, and after a bit he started to purr. I let him be again. I went in later with my mom, and he was more reluctant and scared, but eventually purred. I thought maybe he broke something like a rib, but he was starting to roll on him back for belly rubs, and I felt his ribs and he did nothing. I may have gripped him hard n his side or something when he started to scratch, just out of reflex, but he seems not injured. I would like to know what you think it could be, if youve ever experienced this, and what i should do. Im seriously considering a vet visit. Any questions and ill answer. i just want my cat back. If you dont have any info, i could really use some spirit lifting. He is a great friend and i just want my friend back. He was bought from the shelter, and he definatley had been hurt before, but his attitude was like nothing ever happened.

I fought and won a battle with cancer in 2009, but my current job has me working with chemicals that are known to cause cancer. My doctors agree that i should not be around them, since they consider me high risk. I am able to perform all functions for other jobs, except chemical use. I am unable to transfer to another job permanently. My only other option is medical layoff. Would i be eligible for unemployment benefits?

I DID NOT LEAVE OFF THE GUIDE PULLEY TENSION SPRING AT THE BACK AS YOU STATED. MY QUESTION-- I HAD A BEARING FAILURE IN THE GEAR BOX OF MY TORO PERSONAL PACE MOWER. IT TOOK OUT THE RING GEAR AND PINION. I REPLACED THE WHOLE GEAR BOX & AXEL SHAFT. IT CAME IN AN ASSEMBLY. SINCE REPLACING IT, I CANNOT SEEM TO GET THE MOWER TO RUN IN THE GRASS. ON CONCRETE IT GOES FINE, NOT IN THE GRASS. I REPLACED THE BELT. THE SPRING IS ATTACHED TO THE ARM THAT MOVES THE GEAR BOX ,ROTATING THE GEAR BOX ON THE AXEL WHICH TIGHTENS THE BELT. THE SPRING IS FASTENED TO THE CABLE AND IS NOT REMOVABLE. WHEN THE COVER OF THE BEARING WENT THROUGH THE RING AND PINION, IT TOOK THE TEETH OFF OF THEM. At my layoff meeting in March my company assured me that I would have an unemployment claim right away so that i could pay my bills until I could find another job(6 months). I then went to the state of PA and was told that I do not have a claim until July so I now have no money coming in for April,May,June. Just the other day rumors started flying about temporary layoffs because of the Japan crisis. I have worked for this plant twice already. The last time the mention of temporary lay offs came up it turned in to full blown layoff. I was lucky and got my job offered back to me after three months because the guy who got stuck on my shift quit. Now the rumors are flying again...and since I got laid off I have lost all of my seniority and I'm back on the chopping block again. Has anyone re-located to Phoenix from another city? How was/is your experience? I currently live in Chicago (born & raised) and am thinking of relocating. I live in the inner city and am used to lots of noise, plenty people, and a vast of activities and places to see at all times/hours of the day. I know I can't expect Phoenix to be as fast paced as it is here in Chicago and my options of entertainment might be limited but that's fine as I'm looking for something more low-key for my family (I have two young children). How are the people? Are they friendly? We (here) have heard so many stories about Arizona government and officials, I know some must be exaggerations..are people racist toward latinos? Excuse me for being offensive but I don't want my family to be judged upon either (well, beyond the normal amount). How are the jobs? Schools? Restaurants (we are self labeled "foodies")? How is the crime? Please remember that while we live in one of the most notorious neighborhoods in Chicago we still feel safe and take comfort in knowing our community. Summer cross country training?

Hi, I run cross country for Lockport high school in NY and this upcoming season is going to be my last. Last year I ran an 18:40( I think I could of went around a 18:10ish). In track I ran a 4:57 mile and a 11:07 2 mile( again I think I could of gone a bit faster if I learned to push myself better. This year i want to run a 17:00 in cross country. The past couple weeks i've been running around 7 to 8 mile a day at around 7:30 to 8:00 minute mile pace. Around 50 miles a week. And have been doing mile repeats at around 6 minutes after my 7 mile runs. I also just started working out push ups sit ups planks leg lifts etc. I would like for someone to tell me what I should be doing to reach my goal of 17:00 in the xc 5k or any advice and tips are greatly appreciated. Are there alternatives for testifying in court other than appearance for a subpeona?

My husband witnessed an accident in MS 2 yrs ago. Now we live in TN and have absolutely no financial means to get there to testify. Bundle all these worries. Keep them in abeyance for a few months. In the meantime, please learn some techniques for physical self-discipline, mental control, and social orderliness. There's usually a place on the application where you can clarify any issues in your academic record. You can just explain that you wanted to stretch yourself, but you got in over your head despite your best efforts and the experience really reaffirmed that [chosen program] was what you were meant to do. They'll probably conclude that themselves if it's a total outlier compared to the rest of your record, but it helps to give your side of the story. (Alternatively, you could retake the class or at least take a similar elective that's more forgiving to non-science majors, but I don't think it's worth it if there's other stuff you need/want to take instead.)
